The Mission of the Kids Philosophy Slam is to give kids a voice and to inspire kids to think by unlocking their intellectual and creative potential through a unique and powerful philosophical forum.

The Kids’ Lit Quiz is an annual literature quiz for students aged 10 – 13 years.

 

Quizzes are held in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, United Kingdom and USA.The winning team from each heat competes in a National Final. National champions compete in the World Final.

LaunchX holds a summer program to tap into the potential of ambitious high school students, supporting them through the process of launching an actual startup. This four-week, intensive program allows young entrepreneurs to learn from industry experts and work in a group of peer co-founders to build real products and solve business challenges.

LEDA is a national, not-for-profit organization dedicated to identifying and developing the academic and leadership potential of exceptional public high school students from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds. Each year, LEDA recruits a new cohort of LEDA Scholars 鈥 100 qualified high school juniors who show leadership potential but lack the exposure and support they need to attend highly selective colleges. LEDA Scholars receive leadership training, writing instruction, standardized test preparation and a year of highly personalized guidance as they navigate the application and admissions process at the most competitive colleges. Throughout college and beyond, Scholars are offered ongoing advising, career counseling, postgraduate planning and community-building support to help them succeed and lead.

The InvenTeam庐 initiative has been changing the way educators teach and providing young people 鈥 especially young women and students from underrepresented backgrounds – with creative problem solving skills to flourish in college and career for over 15 years. High school students experience invention and cultivate creativity through an InvenTeam grant of up to $10K. The InvenTeam initiative has worked with 2,900 students across the U.S. to invent technological solutions to real-world problems.

LifeSmarts, the ultimate consumer challenge, is an educational opportunity for students in 6th-12th grade. This competition prepares students to enter the real world as smart adult consumers. Participants focus on five key topic areas: consumer rights and responsibilities, the environment, health and safety, personal finance, and technology. LifeSmarts’ scholarship program honors dozens of students every year with financial support for post-secondary education.

MIT’s聽Lincoln Laboratory Radar Introduction for Student Engineers聽(LLRISE) program is a summer workshop teaching students how to build small radar systems. This summer STEM program is a FREE two-week residential project-based enrichment program for outstanding students currently in their junior year in high school.

Lone Star Leadership Academies are Sunday through Friday overnight camps offered throughout the summer for outstanding 4th-8th graders. Campers have the opportunity to explore significant sites in Texas鈥 three largest metropolitan areas with other outstanding students鈥 all before 9th grade!

Los Angeles Math Circle (LAMC) is a top-tier math circle attracting elementary, middle and high school students interested in mathematics and eager to learn. LAMC is a program of the Department of Mathematics at UCLA. Following the traditions of Russian and Eastern European math circles, the program focuses on showcasing the beauty of mathematics and its applications, improving problem solving skills, preparing students for a variety of contests and competitions, creating a social context for mathematically inclined students as well as attracting students to math-related careers.

Based in the Santa Clara Valley of California, Lyceum aims is to inspire and challenge gifted students in all fields of the arts, sciences and humanities, helping them develop their potential while encouraging and assisting parents, teachers, and counselors to do the same. Constituents, once members, can register for seminars and events.

The Lyle School of Engineering at Southern Methodist University offers summer camp programs for students in 6th聽through 12th聽grades.聽 These summer camps are authentically Lyle, as the facilities, staff, and curriculum are all unique to the Lyle School of Engineering.聽 Camps provide a creative environment for students to learn the fundamentals of engineering through hands-on, interactive team projects.
